Moto-Master Halo Floating Disc – consistent braking under pressure

The Moto-Master Halo front brake disc uses a floating construction where the outer braking ring is mounted to the inner carrier via a series of small hardened buttons. This allows the braking surface to expand radially as it heats up without transferring stress to the carrier or hub. The result is consistent brake feel throughout a race session, even after repeated heavy stops.

Why choose a floating disc?

Fixed brake discs can develop a slight warp under intensive thermal cycling, causing brake judder and an inconsistent lever feel. On a fixed disc, all thermal expansion is absorbed by the disc material itself, creating stress. A floating disc eliminates this by allowing controlled movement at the mounting interface. For casual trail riding a standard disc is fine, but for race use or heavy enduro, a floating disc is a meaningful upgrade.
