Öhlins YA469 – transform your Yamaha's rear suspension

The Öhlins YA469 replaces the factory rear shock on a specific Yamaha model with an Öhlins unit tuned for that chassis and suspension linkage geometry. The OEM rear shock on most standard motorcycles is a non-adjustable or minimally adjustable compromise. Fitting an Öhlins shock introduces proper adjustability and a damping quality that fundamentally changes the bike's response to bumps, braking and cornering.

Adjustability and set-up

The YA469 offers preload and rebound damping adjustment. Set static sag first: adjust preload until the correct rider sag (typically 30 mm on the rear) is achieved, then fine-tune rebound to suit the terrain and riding style. Öhlins ships a baseline set-up guide with the shock.
